WE OFFER TRAINING FOR YOU AND YOUR HORSE
With over 35 years experience, Joanne Johnk has trained many horses successfully and completed several certified training clinics including Level 2 Parelli and Level 2 with Clinton Anderson. She continues her ongoing education through many clinics and seminars. Her training techniques are a combination of everything she has learned from the best available trainers including Chris Cox, Ed Dabney, Clinton Anderson, and her own extensive experience with every horse she meets. Although she was riding horses at the age of 4 and owned her first pony at age 6, she trained her first two year old at the age of 15 and went on to successfully show her. Her husband and her operated a horse boarding and training facility in SD for five years before returning to the south where they started J and A Riding Stables in Piedmont, SC. They moved the operation to Donalds, SC in 2006.
Every critical stage of training is included with each horse from the ground up. We do not skip any stages and make sure the horse fully understands what he has learned before moving on to the next stage. We use natural methods, natural to the horse, and never utilize any abusive equipment, gadgets nor "trick" methods of getting the job done quickly.
We spend a terrific amount of time with each horse, desensitizing them to scary objects. We do a two day clinic every spring for trail and a scary object course. Email us if you are interested in bringing your horse and joining us. We do have horses available to borrow if you just want the experience.

Ana Johnk is one of our instructors and trainers. She has been riding since she could walk. She has also successfully completed a private clinic with Jeff Davis, as well as numerous other equine training clinics. Ana continues her equine education and experience through every available resource and professional. She is now working in cutting and reining with Joey MacRae. Our greatest joy is to see our students excel with horses and in many cases, surpass us at younger and younger ages. Many thanks to the incredible trainers and clinicians that make it so much easier on horse owners today.
