Tribute to ROYAL BLUE BOON
1980 - 2011
On August 8, 2011 we were blessed with the good fortune to be invited to meet and visit with Royal Blue Boon at Elaine Hall's in Weatherford, TX. The drive from South Carolina to Elaine's residence was entirely from the edge of our seats with child-like excitement and anticipation of the honor to meet Elaine and Royal Blue Boon.
Arriving at Elaine's, all thoughts of the outside world vanished into thin air, overshadowed by the experience to be in the company of such legends. Elaine was the most gracious hostess imaginable and we were in awe of her mere presence; truly an extraordinary lady who lives her faith. Upon introduction to Royal Blue Boon, it was all too obvious she was fully content with the home and love that have surrounded her during all the 28-plus years of Elaine's care.
Approaching Royal Blue Boon for the very first time was simply magical. There, in our presence, stood the greatest mare in the history of cutting. To be able to reach out and touch her was a dream come true! Our visit with Elaine Hall and Royal Blue Boon is, without doubt, the highlight of our year; possibly the highlight of our experience for many years to come.
It was with great sadness and sincere grief that we learned of Royal Blue Boon's passing on Thursday, October 13, 2011. She was 31. She is laid peacefully to rest at her home, Larry Hall Cutting Horses, in Weatherford TX, but her legendary spirit and history will never rest. Royal Blue Boon's legacy will live on through her progeny for all time and she will live forever in our hearts.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
